DigiView is a product that is used for the archiving and retrieval of high volumes of computer generated output. DigiView is the perfect solution for Financial Institutions and Service Providers that generate large volumes of reports, statements and invoices.
DigiView differentiates itself from competing products in that it is designed to be 'network friendly'. This is achieved by compressing and indexing individual pages. When a remote user needs to access an old statement DigiView locates the relevant pages using the index and only sends the relevant pages back to the users workstation.
The DigiView server components are available for Unix and Windows NT. The DigiView viewer components are available for Windows workstations or Internet browsers. Application developers can integrate access to the digiView archive database by using the DigiView API's.
The largest single DigiView installation is in a telecommunications company that has more than 2000 workstation licences. This organization archives approximately 2.5 GB of customer statements every day.
DigiView consists of a family of products to address the client's specific requirements. The following components are part of the DigiView family of products:
DIGIVIEW 'NET'
A three-tier architecture.
A server provides all access to the reports, and the client viewer is an automatically downloaded viewer that is embedded within the Internet Explorer Browser.
The embedded viewer is almost as fully featured as the Classic Viewer, with full support for forms, ad-hoc and indexed searching etc.
Latest versions of the viewer are automatically downloaded when reports are accessed.
As compressed pages are returned to the embedded viewer one at a time, and only on request, large reports can be browsed and viewed by the user.
Comprehensive user rights and access controls.
DIGIVIEW WEB
A robust, Cross-browser version of 'Net'.
Functionality provided by the ActiveX control in 'Net' has been excluded.
Information is delivered in HTML and Acrobat (pdf) formats.
DIGIVIEW CLASSIC
File-server based.
The Viewer software is installed on each PC where viewing is to take place.
Digiview, an online report-archiving solution developed in SA 10 years ago, has been given an overhaul by its developer Barone, Budge and Dominick (BB&D).
