In 2014 we decided to grow our talent pool and expand our offices to India. We are now a fully fledged Indian company. During that time we have rented premises that can seat 42 people, opened bank accounts, procured suppliers, setup the facilities infrastructure so that we are part of the BBD WAN to make it seamless to move between this office and any other BBD office.
We have developed a working model which we call co-shoring, whereby the development team is split geographically and uses modern communication technologies and the Scrum agile software development framework to overcome the communication gaps that we believe have been the downfall of many an off-shoring initiative in the past.
It hasn’t been without it’s challenges but we do believe we are succeeding and with all of the setup behind us, it allows us to look forward unhindered. We plan to offer the co-shoring model into BBD’s other SA based clients, which will allow the BBD Group to grow faster than if it were constrained to the South African based talent pool alone.
